Beginner's Guide to Trust Wallet
Trust Wallet is the official mobile wallet of the crypto giant Binance. The wallet is loaded with multiple built-in features that will help you to keep your assets safe and easily accessible. It also allows you to connect and explore multiple DApps built across different blockchains, including Ethereum.
Unlike the Binance Smart Chain Wallet (a browser extension), the Trust wallet is a more handy and suitable method to access your assets in a hassle-free manner.
So, how’s Trust Wallet any different from browser extension wallets such as the BSC wallet or MetaMask?
Trust Wallet bundles everything for you in a single app - buying, trading, storing, and selling cryptocurrency. Just like any other mobile app on your phone, Trust Wallet can be easily downloaded and installed on your phone.
This article focuses on the use of Trust Wallet to manage and safeguard your crypto assets quickly and efficiently.
What is TrustWallet?
Trust Wallet is a mobile crypto wallet with a built-in web3 browser that allows you to explore DApps built across different blockchains seamlessly and safely.
It is a multi-coin wallet that supports almost 40 blockchains and 160k+ assets. With Trust Wallet, you can store your coins, tokens, and collectibles all in a single place. You can view the complete list of supported assets by clicking here.
Now, let’s move on to see what this exciting, user-friendly, fast, and secure crypto wallet can do to your cryptocurrency.
How to Download and Install TrustWallet?
Creating a multi-coin wallet is super easy and can be done in a couple of minutes.
To create your multi-coin wallet, follow the steps below:
1. Download Trust Wallet on your mobile from any of the official sources.
App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/trust-ethereum-wallet/id1288339409
Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wallet.crypto.trustapp
2. After the app is successfully downloaded, Click on the app to launch it. It will show you a welcome page as shown below:
3. The app will ask you to create a new wallet or import an existing one. Click on “CREATE A NEW WALLET” to make a brand new multi-coin wallet.
4. Checkmark the box to accept the “Privacy Policy” and “Terms of Service” and then click ‘Continue’.
5. The app will ask you to backup your wallet with a 12-word seed phrase. Now, this is the most crucial part of your wallet creation. This is the key to your wallet.
Important Tip: Store your seed phrase or wallet password at a very safe place. Never share it with anyone, in any case. Fraudsters online will try to trick you into revealing your key. If you lose your wallet recovery phrase and by chance get locked out of your wallet, you may not be able to open it again. The device you are using may get damaged or stolen. When you attempt to open your wallet on a new device, you will need to enter this seed phrase. Thus, you face a serious risk of losing your assets if you misplace your seed phrase. So make multiple copies of it and store it in different places.
6. So be ready to note down your seed phrase and checkmark the box accepting their Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Click on continue.
7. It will now show you the 12-word seed phrase on the next page. Click to copy the phrase and paste it on your computer. Don’t forget to lock the file with a password to enhance security. You can also note it down on a piece of paper and put it in the locker.
8. Click “Continue.”
9. On the next page, confirm the 12-word recovery phrase by typing them in the same order as shown before.
10. It’s done! Your first multi-coin wallet is ready to use. You will see an initial list of coins on the main wallet page to start your crypto journey.
How to Backup after Creating your Wallet?
If you have created your wallet and are not sure about the seed phrase you stored, then no need to worry. You can still access it in the app by following the steps below:
1. Tap on “Settings,” located at the bottom right corner of the app.
2. Tap on “Wallet.”
3. Tap on three vertical dots and then hit “Show Recovery Phrase.”
4. Checkmark the box and click continue to proceed.
It will then show you your wallet backup phrase. You can now note it down and store it in a safe place.
How to Create Multiple Wallets in TrustWallet?
You can create a maximum of 15 multi-coin wallets with a single Trust Wallet app. You can also personalize each wallet and use it for a specific purpose.
You can use a wallet for holding a certain type of token, another wallet for yield farming on a particular platform, one for connecting to a suitable gaming Dapp and so on.

2. Tap on Settings and then click on “Wallets.”
3. Hit the “+” sign at the upper right corner to redirect to the Create/Import Wallet page.
4. Follow the steps again of “Creating a new wallet” as described above.

To personalize a wallet, follow the steps below:

2. Click on three vertical dots against the wallet that you want to personalize.

How to Use Trust Wallet to Interact with DApps?
To enjoy Dapps within the Trust Wallet environment, iOs users need to have the Dapp browser while Android users have the Dapp browser by default.
To Enable the Dapp browser in Trust Wallet on an Android Device, follow the steps below:
1. Launch Trust Wallet.
2. Go to “Settings” and then scroll down to tap “Preferences.”

Trust wallet makes it easier for you to search for your favorite Dapp. De-Fi lovers can directly search their favorite Dapp by directly typing into the search box at the top of the DApp browser page.
They can also view the Dapps of the same category- such as Yield farming Dapps, gaming DApps, Popular Dapps, Exchanges, Marketplaces, etc. - by freely navigating through the Dapp browser in the Trust Wallet app.
How to enable the Dapp browser in iOs devices
I hope you all must have heard of this saying, “Where straightforwardness has never a chance of working, crookedness flourishes.” Let’s see how this will work with iOs devices.
1. Open a browser like Safari.
2. Type this in the URL “trust://browser_enable.”
3. A pop-up appears asking you to open this page using Trust Wallet.
4. Tap on “open” to open the page in Trust Wallet.
5. It’s done. You will see that the Dapp browser icon has changed into a “Browser” icon.
Scroll down to select your favorite app. Open and enjoy, but make sure to use the same chain wallet address as the Dapp to avoid losing your funds.
How to Use TrustWallet for Binance Smart Chain?
Once you’re done with the basic setup of a multi-coin wallet, tap on Smart Chain and then hit receive to find your wallet address.
Similarly, you can tap on different chains listed on the main wallet screen to view their respective wallet addresses. This is the public wallet address you can share with anyone to receive funds into your wallet (In the case of Smart Chain, you will receive BNB).
Now, you need to have some BNB in your wallet to make any transaction or to interact with Dapps built on the Binance Smart Chain Network. You can directly buy BNB from Trust Wallet by making a payment through Moonpay using your credit card.
If you have BNB available in some of your other crypto wallets, you can send them to your trust wallet smart chain address and enjoy its benefits.
How to Add a Custom Token to your Trust Wallet?
Tap on the toggle button at the upper right corner of the main wallet screen. Search for the token that you want to add. If the token is not available, it will come up with a message that says, “No asset found”.
1. Scroll down to the bottom and tap “Add Custom Token.”
2. Fill in the token details that you want to add and tap Done.
3. Make sure to select the preferred network of the token.
You can find the token contract address by using Etherscan for the tokens built on the Ethereum network. To find the token contract address built on the Binance Smart Chain Network, use BSCscan.
The newly added token will now appear on the main wallet screen.
What is a Trust Wallet Token (TWT)?
Trust Wallet Token or TWT is a BEP20 token that is used to incentivize all Trust Wallet users. It is the utility token of the Trust Wallet Platform. Users can earn TWT by taking quizzes and by doing tasks like staking and trading within the app.
